The unwritten rules of surfing seem in recent years to be losing there potency and now need to be written down. When I was a grom if you didn't adhere to these strict rules someone would make sure you were aware of each and every one of them plain as day, usually by running over you or your board.

Now with more people in the line up for various reasons; the invention of the leg rope being one and some blame surf schools. Personally I would prefer to surf around a school taught surfer than non.

Surfing etiquette is the most important part of surfing. There will always be others in the water enjoying the experience and we need to respect that by sticking to these simple rules.
