Thanks Greg (Silversurfer) for showing me how to surf. I had great fun as I had never surfed before and I got up in my first lesson. I cant wait to come up to the Gold Coast again, I hope I can soon and have more lessons.

Learning to surf is an experience I will never forget. The sensation of gliding along swelling fluid is unlike anything; it's physically thrilling, yet soulful as well.
I am one happy goofy-footing girl!! Thank you SilverSurfer you made it fun & always safe.

My name is Tahnee. I have always had an interest in surfing but never took any lessons until late 2003. My dad signed me up up for surf school but we found that I wasn't getting very good at this sport because of the amount of people and not a lot of time to go around each student. We then found Greg in January 2004 and have been taking lessons with him since. Since joining up with Greg my surfing skills have improved greatly, and I think what has done that is that Greg is a very patient, friendly, informative and understanding surf coach. I believe I shall reach my goal of being a pro surfer a lot easier and quicker with Greg as my coach. I would like to say thanks to Greg & Narelle for being the best coaches and hope to continue my lessons with you both.

SilverSurfer: ...Well done Tahnee. She surfed all through winter.
Learning to surf with Greg was amazing. I'd had one surf lesson before, but it was so full on with so many instructions to absorb and so much pressure to stand up, that I'd never gone back. Greg was different. He was the most patient, most skilful, most considerate teacher I could possibly imagine. He gave clear, logical instructions, and introduced skills one step at a time. He made me feel completely calm and confident.
And when all the hype was off, suddenly I COULD stand up! Not only that but by the second lesson I could stay standing up all the way from Currumbin point almost to Palm Beach! Yeeeee-haaaah!! Greg taught me to trust my own balance and intuition, and I'm so grateful for that.
Greg's patient teaching and his wholistic approach to the art and experience of surfing make learning to surf a very special life experience, one you really have to try to believe. :-) I'm still grinning!!!!

During our family lessons Greg is able to tailor his instructions to benefit us all individually. He is supportive and encouraging, he made us feel really positive about surfing as a family...we will be back!!

My name is Frank & I have a 14 year old daughter Tahnee who shares a common interest in surfing & was real keen on taking up the sport. We first tried one of the other surf schools operating in the area but found in a large group Tahnee was not getting enough in depth tuition. We met Greg early January 04 & approached him for a one on one lesson for Tahnee & have been with him since.
What I like about Greg is his laid back friendly, informative, patient one step at a time no pressure attitude in teaching. Although I haven't surfed for more than 20 yrs, it has been a real buzz getting back on a board, having fun, hopefully I may yet get to ride a tube & hang ten as well.

I chose SilverSurfer Surf Coaching because I'd been surfing with friends five or six times and had no idea how to stand up once I actually caught a wave. I wanted surfing lessons, but I didn't want to be in a class. Greg proved to be a great personal surf coach. Thanks to his encouragement and expertise, I actually rode waves in our first lesson, and then improved my form in our second lesson. It would have taken me months of surfing on my own to try to learn the feet and body positioning that he was able to teach me in just two hours. Keep it up, Greg!

Hi, I'm Renee, oh and that's Ben my boyfriend. I have been living on the Gold Coast for about four years and during this time I have always had an interest in surfing, however I have never actually learnt how to surf. That is until I met Greg. Greg's high energy motivated me to get out of bed and attend the early morning lessons (the best time for waves), whilst his flexible agenda enabled me to reschedule a lesson, on the odd occasion that an emergency came up. His relaxed, yet focused approach enabled me to gradually improve. Not to mention his patience and constant encouragement whenever I got exhausted (or lazy)! However it is the sense of fun that Greg adds to the lessons that make them enjoyable. Greg's friendly demeanor and constant smiles makes learning to surf a wonderful experience, rather than a chore. Believe me there is no better feeling than riding a wave!

Dad is a great surf coach. I couldn't surf before and then I had one lesson and I was standing up and everything. I really enjoyed my time with him and I hope to have more lessons.

I love having surf lessons with Greg because it is a good experience to have and Greg is a great teacher. I have only had two lessons and I already know how to go left and right on waves, I am looking forward to my next lesson, Thanks Greg

Greg has been inspirational in my return to surfing after 18 years.I have found his enthusiasm for the sport and love and respect of the ocean to be contagious to the point where I am once again surfing every chance I get.
With Greg's help I am surfing better than ever, as well I am feeling healthier and happier than I have in years.
My greatest joy though comes from my 11 year old daughter Jasmine. She has improved out of sight and most importantly for me as a father has learnt invaluable surf safety skills since she started having lessons with Greg. We now regularly spend quality time with each other doing something we both really enjoy (unlike the days I spent sitting on the sideline of a netball court). I now wait with much anticipation for my two younger daughters to get the chance to have their first lessons with you Greg.

I never would have thought it could be that easy. I had tried surfing by myself or with friends in the past but failed miserably so assumed I just couldn't cut it as a surfer until Greg pointed out the correct techniques. Everything is easy when you know how and surfing is no exception. You don't need to be a natural, just learn the right technique and Greg is the master surf coach with his calming, patient nature and super cool attitude.
It's amazing what you can achieve with the right coaching and, when it comes to surf coaching, Greg is definitely "The Man".

Hello my name is Matt, I've never surfed before in my life, but coming from a seaside town in the U.K. It's something I've always wanted to do. I watched some of the group classes and didn't feel that it would suit me, so I was very pleased when I watched a very good Ozy surfer who recommended me to Greg. As soon as I spoke to Greg on the phone I knew we would get on, he's very polite and made me feel at ease. My first lesson was great, I even managed to stand up which Greg praised me for, from there on my confidence with Greg's expertise grew, I would like to THANK YOU again for giving me the push I needed to get into surfing. Thanks mate, and I hope to see you in the surf!

This is a picture of me with my very first surf board. A gift from my surfer husband after 6 months of surfing lessons with Greg Howell.
I never thought I'd ever own a surfboard let alone feel confident to actually start to surf.
This miraculous achievement in my life has been due to the patient dedication Greg has given to me over the past 6 months.
He made my learning experience safe, fun & always encouraging.
Greg never got frazzled or frustrated with my progress (as I sometimes did!). He just always gave me the belief I could & would surf.
I'm now going out surfing on my own & with friends & totally love the whole experience. I feel very empowered from where I started to where I am now.
I can without any reservation recommend Greg Howell as an awe inspiring & dedicated surf coach.
In my belief & experience he is the very best! Happy Surfing
